I strongly believe the goals of teaching are to help students learn, grow and, become independent thinkers. Teaching is not just about giving students information; it is about helping them develop knowledge, skills, critical thinking abilities, and confidence. Teachers should create an inclusive and supportive classroom where students feel comfortable participating and learning from their mistakes. I also aim to help students apply what they learn to real life situations and become life long learners. As someone who wants to teach Special Education, especially Early Education, it is really important to e to touch on those emotional aspects as I am these kids’s first interactions outside of their families. Gaining those connections with them are essential and key to their development.

Teaching is like a kite string. Teachers give children enough support to keep them from falling while also giving them the freedom to explore and become independent.
Teaching is like a safety net. Young Children need opportunities to try new things independently, but they also need to know someone is there to catch them when they struggle. A special education teacher provides that security while encouraging independence.
